Lake Louise

On our way to Lake Louise, I saw some sceneries that reminded me of the Drielandepunt in Netherlands. Drielandepunt is where the boundaries of Germany, Belgium, and Netherlands meet.

In Lake Louise, the view is absolutely breathtaking! Glaciers on the mountain make the panorama picturesque. A truly sight to behold!

freezin cold!

After an hour or so, we headed back to downtown and searched for the Devounian Garden. Unfortunately, it was already closed. Chinatown was the other option, however, the shops are also closed.

We all decided to go to the mall to grab a bite and walk around a bit. When we are about to go home, we bumped into James classmate and best friend, Jedd. The two six-year-old kids run towards each other with open arms then stopped abruptly. 😀 That surely elicited laughter from all of us.

Jedd & James

We all thought they’re going to hug like they haven’t seen each other for a million years.  The truth is, they just saw each other few days ago.

🙂

It’s a good way to end the day…  Gotta snooze now. Another exciting day tomorrow. Mwwwwwwa!

freakish

I was on a bus tinkering with my iPhone when a  blonde curly-haired little boy suddenly grabbed my phone and blurted out, “Can I borrow your iPhone?”. I nearly had a heart attack because I thought he’s some kind of a snatcher.

His mother was giving him the “you better behave” look but the little boy was persistent. He may be around four or five years old. When he sat beside me and then leaned on me, I felt like pushing him but I restrained myself. I kept reminding myself that he’s just a kid.  Suddenly, he latched on to my phone and began browsing it. I was dumbfounded! O_O

my iPhone

He was looking for games and when he can’t find any, he returned my phone. Thank goodness, I don’t have games on my phone!  His mom kept him occupied by giving him a calculator and a toy. He typed “450″ on the calculator and then mumbled some unintelligible words while playing with his toy. He’s really out of this world.

That’s the longest five minutes I’ve ever had! It’s creepy just sitting beside him… which is strange because I love kids. He even said goodbye when I was about to alight, but it’s kinda nightmarish. It’s my first time to feel this way with a kid. It’s bizarre!

I really felt relieved when I alighted from the bus. Whew!

Banff

A jump start to a new, bright and sunny day! It was raining yesterday so we just roamed around the mall. I did not do much shopping because my pocket is still bleeding from all the money I spent in that US Visa application (see related article -> denied).

Nevertheless, I did indulge myself with food as well as bought bedding, duvet and comforter for my new place. I’ll be moving to my new cave in a few weeks time. Wohoo!

my comforter. hahaha!

Today’s itinerary includes a visit to Banff National Park and Lake Louise. We are kinda lost at the moment and I have no idea on which direction we are going. I’ve let RJ use his iPhone to check the road that we need to take. I kinda suck with geography thingy, so, I just sat back, enjoy the scenery and start writing.

By the time that we’ve found the Banff National Park, there’s already a long queue for the Gondola (Cable Car) Ride. Thus, we opted to look around for a bit and look for souvenir items.

Next stop… Lake Louise! 🙂

heads up!

I cut the Saranghae Korea! into different links. I separated each Korean TV Series to give way to Leila’s request. She wanted to comment on separate TV Series. I think it’s a very good suggestion because it made the article more organized and “clean”.  Thanks Leila!  By the way, check out her newly set up blog site -> Vaindulgence

Have fun reading everyone! More articles will be posted in a flash!  Saranghae!

Hearts of 19

Hearts of 19

I saw this series being shown in Singapore and I got captivated! I admire the female lead’s “never say die” attitude. Incidentally, she’s also the female lead in Boys Over Flowers. I admit that triggered me to watch the show. 🙂

I can’t say much since I haven’t finished it yet. Nevertheless, I’m loving it to the maximum level!

My Lovely Samsoon

My Lovely Samsoon

This is another good show for unattached individuals who are chubby and with a very odd name which is “unacceptable” in the society. I fit the bill for being single and fat. Well, my name is unique and strange… but i love it! :p

The series also emphasized that being vocal is an asset. Know what you want, voice out how you feel and fight for your rights!

Soulmate

Soulmate

This made me stop and ponder on things. It truly hits home!

Whether we admit it or not, we all want to meet our soulmate. There are relationships that are not meant to be, no matter hard you try to make it work. Tragic but it’s reality. Accept the inevitable and move forward. It’s such a waste to live a pathetic life. :p

Marry Me

Marry Me

It’s a story about an old spinster (a.k.a. old maid) who wants to get married badly. This series kept me glued for two reasons:

  1. The male lead is so cute (he’s also one of the characters in the Boys Over Flowers)
  2. I can relate well to the story because I’m also an old maid. LOL I also want to get married but for the right reasons, otherwise, I’d rather stay single. Ha!

I Really Really Like You

I Really Really Like You

At first, I don’t like the plot of this series including the title (it’s corny!) but after watching few episodes, I finally find it appealing.  The male lead is very charming and has an endearing hilarious antics.  The way the male and female leads tried so hard to avoid the love that they feel for each other makes me think of some people I know. Indenial stage eh?

Also, this series made cooking an interesting and artistic undertaking as well as provided helpful tips and tricks.

Bad Couple

Bad Love

It’s kinda weird because the female lead’s plan to have a child without a husband coincide with mine. Hush hush! I even sent a text message to my prospective “donor” two (2) years ago. We did not yet talk about it. I think he’s ignoring it on purpose. I wonder why.  Maybe… Just maybe… He has something else in mind that I will know soon? Or it’s just my wild imagination?

Hmmm… Whatever it is, he has still six (6) months to think things over. You know who you are. Ha! If I don’t receive a reply after that period, I will resort to plan B. :p

Saranghae Korea!

Aneong Ha Sae Yo! (Hello!)

As promised in my previous article (Korean Aficionado), below are the Korean TV Series that I’ve watched for the past two (2) months.  You may click the links to view:

Note: I prefer watching the original series with subtitles than the “Tagalogized” (dubbed in Tagalog) version.

I’ve also watched Boys Over Flower (multiple times!), Coffee Prince, Sassy Girl, Temptation of a Wife,  Full House, Baker King (partial)  and… I forgot the others. I plead guilty. I’m a sucker for Korean TV Series and reached the point of becoming proficient in the art of reading subtitles!

iPhone crunchyroll app provided a convenient way to watch Korean shows whenever and wherever. Thanks much Steve Jobs and the Apple people for developing the iPhone!  I hope the Flash Player issue will be sorted out soon so that I can watch more. Ha!

As for the Hearts of 19, it’s not yet in the crunchyroll so I have to watch it in mysoju.com. I hope the crunchyroll guys will soon add it in their list. Wheey! Time to stop! This blog entry has gotten way too loooooooong! :p

See you all in a bit! Saranghae (I love you)! Aja!

iphone

I admit, no matter how fabulous the advantages of using an iphone presents, I still dilly- dally. At that time, my drive to start my blog site was very low. The motivation that I’ve been looking seem to sunk down in oblivion. However, my momentum resurrected and went on a steady beat when I break free from the claws of a dangerous creature.

So, it took me two years to weigh the pros and cons before I finally decided to buy an iPhone.  The convenience of using the iPhone to “pen” down my thoughts and immediately upload it to my blog site writing while in the train, bus or wherever I am was the deciding factor.

Thank you Steve Jobs for being the greatest innovator of all times (in my point of view that is…) :p Now, my iPhone became a part of my daily routine. It’s the last thing that I check before I go to sleep and the first thing that I look for when I wake up.

The practicality and usefulness of the iphone allowed me to utilize my time wisely.  Aside from writing articles, I was also able to do the following:

  • read and reply comments in thecuriousme.com and Facebook
  • listen to wave radio
  • watch youtube videos
  • check email
  • pay bills via internet banking
  • chat via yahoo messenger
  • surf the internet
  • check out directions via Google map

I decided to sell it (see transfer of ownership) due to unavoidable circumstances. It’s pretty agonizing because I’m letting go the most amazingl gadget that I’ve ever had so far. Of course, the laptop is also useful but iphone comes in handy at all times.

At any rate, life must go on. Who knows, I will get another one in the near future. Maybe by that time, Steve Jobs has already developed a phone that can enable people to teleport. Ha! :p

transfer of ownership

It was a typical Sunday afternoon…
Crowded mall…
Jampacked walkway…
Long queue everywhere…

With people walking to and fro including children happily running and jumping all over the place, it’s totally head spinning! Ha!

Lali and I had to endure the “lovely sounds” and mob because we need to process a transfer of ownership. Big word! 🙂 After buying milk tea with pearl, we headed straight to the mobile customer service center. The queue number was at 1039 and our number was at 1044.

Lali is taking over my iphone and a transfer of ownership was needed for a post paid service. It’s funny because it sounds like I was selling a land or house.  While waiting patiently for our turn, we entertained ourselves by watching the Forbes Richest People in the world. It felt like the “ka ching ka ching” sound of the cash register was playing loudly and dollar signs are popping everywhere.

It took us more than half an hour to queue and the processing took around 10 to 15 minutes. The transfer of ownership will take effect after 3 to 5 working days. There goes my iphone. It will soon be owned by my friend. I will surely miss our memorable moments together. It’s one of the most useful gadget I’ve ever had!

Life must go on… Aja!
