lovin’ life!

“With a positive outlook in life, there’s no reason for you not to smile. ;) Be happy. Enjoy life to the fullest. As they say, there should be work and life balance. Treasure what you have. And most of all, it’s a big no no to compare yourself with others.”

Keep on smiling! Aja! :D

note to self

  • smile often even if you can’t find any reason to smile
  • find your tongue, you’ve been tight-lipped for quite sometime
  •  wear your eyeglasses when you’re using the computer. it hurts badly when you don’t.
  • work out regularly since you can’t stop yourself from eating
  • refrain from daydreaming especially when you’re driving
  • teach your right foot to accurately distinguish the gas and break pedal. don’t interchange!
  • ignore those people who talk behind your back
  • stay away from hypocrites, they emit negative energy which is bad for the health
  • don’t just meet expectations, exceed them!
  • continue writing and inspiring other creatures
  • never entertain negative thoughts
  • choose the guy whom you love and who loves you dearly… someone who proves his words with actions… someone who has a concrete plan for the future… be firm or else you may end up like a fool (again.)
  • love yourself
  • stop hibernating, get a life!
  • join a cruise
  • meditate once a week
  • stop planning your life, it’s not working

Sorry, I’m just talking to myself.  Why don’t you do the same? :p Aja!

tattletale

I was seated not far from the two ladies who were chatting happily (one lady was holding a bouquet of flowers and a card). As usual, I had an invisible bulwark set up around me as I prepare myself to take a “travel nap”.  My barricade was shattered when the lady holding the card animatedly asked her friend about something.  It’s loud enough for all of the passengers inside the bus to hear.

“travel nap”

The conversation went this way:
Lady 1:  Do I look like 59?
(TheCuriousMe Note: Lady 1 was holding the bouquet of flowers while reading the card… It’s obviously her birthday.)

Lady 2:  No.
Lady 1:  Oh! Thank you!
(TheCuriousMe: She’s absolutely delighted with her friend’s answer because she flashed a bright smile! Oh boy! )

In my little corner, I nearly blurted out, “No, you look like you’re 70″. Good thing I controlled my mouth, I don’t want to burst her bubble. I don’t even know them. Bad me. :p Though my “travel nap” was boorishly  severed, I was still grinning mischievously. Darn! I must be going berserk. Am I making any sense?  This must be the effect of not having a restful sleep.

Until then! Mwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwa!

student life

Being a student is undeniably one of the most exciting moment in a person’s life. It is similar to having a roller coaster ride with several loops on the side.  Ups and downs with matching 360 degree turn are part and parcel of the students’ life. Lectures, discussion, quizzes, examination, homework, group activities, extra curricular activities, and even cat fights and school rumble are the gist of being a student.

Also, not to forget the following:

  • burst of laughters
  • uncontrollable tears
  • squabbles
  • endless chatting (a.k.a. chikahan) and teasing

Moving forward, below were the unforgettable memories in my life as a student:
Kindergarten
Out of the blue, my classmate, C, kissed me on the cheeks. I burst into tears and cried loudly. I don’t know if he still remembers it, but I still do. He was a cutie then, I wonder how he looks like now. Hmmm…..

Primary
When we were about to be spanked with a stick (punishment for not bringing our garden tool) by our teacher, we ran away from him.

Secondary (High School)
Some of the boys in the senior class went to our room and started attacking one of our classmate. Whoa! It’s a total rumble! Chairs were literally flying and it’s a real showdown of skinny boys. (See related article –> high school )

Tertiary
I was walking towards our department building when I witnessed a lover’s quarrel. The girl threw the engagement ring with all the emotions that you can imagine in the school owner’s fish pond.
I frozed and the quickly went back to the building where I came from.

Masteral
I used to be a perennial latecomer especially in my first subject (8a.m.) which was then handled by the President of the University. Nevertheless, I still got a high grade and one of my classmates whined about it because he’s always early and he got a lower grade.

Post Graduate Course
Our lecturer team me up with a German lady and Austrian guy in a group activity. The German lady acted like she’s well verse with the topic and monopolized the discussion. The Austrian guy was just nodding his head and then asked for my opinion.

Although I was tongue tied for a bit, I did manage to give my brief but concise opinion (with a smile) which was absolutely contradictory to what the German lady was saying.

Doctorate (PhD)
Shali and I was heavily scolded by the Dean of the Graduate College because we did not attend the Qualifying Exam on the “scheduled date”. It was a shocker and weird because we both saw that the schedule should be the next day.

We were finally allowed to take the exam after being grilled. I decided not to continue my PhD after passing the Qualifying Exam. :p

A mischievous smile lights up my face whenever I reminisce my student life. I can say that I’ve been naughty and nice? 😀

smile

On my way home yesterday, I was reading one of the comments in thecuriousme.com when I suddenly break into a smile. I overheard someone muttered “so happy!”. Unknowingly, the person closest to my location was looking at me with curiousity written all over his face. I managed to give him a “Monalisa” smile. :p

Most of the time people equates happiness with burst of smile and laughter. Hmmmm… is it because genuine smile and laughter effectively radiates the happiness felt within? It’s pretty amazing how a smile can do wonders. It’s like a sunshine that brightens up and radiates positive energy within the giver, the recipient and the vicinity.

Smiling coupled with burst of laughters from time to time makes a person look young and feel healthy. It is one of the most effective way of saving money. There’s no need to undergo cosmetic procedure like botox, deep set, cheek bone enhancement, dimple placement or whatnot.  Whew! This reminds me of someone. 😉

It’s amusing because a lot of people often mistook me as a high school student because of my petite  frame and “baby face”. And whenever I tell them my real age, people will give me a “you’re lying” look. Ha! I’ve been asked a couple of times on my secret for looking young. Maybe I should be a model of a product for younger looking face. Anyway, there’s no secret really. I just smile and laugh a lot.  No need to spend a fortune to look young.

Also, I’m the type of person who don’t hold grudges (most of the time). HOWEVER, in a situation where someone gravely betrayed my trust, I don’t easily forgive and forget. :p Call me snub, but I make it a point to stay away from people with extremely negative aura. It’s not good for the health. Most of all, I prefer to count my blessings than to keep on whining and being envious with what other people have.

With a positive outlook in life, there’s no reason for you not to smile.  Be happy. Enjoy life to the fullest. As they say, there should be work and life balance. Treasure what you have. And most of all, it’s a big no no to compare yourself with others.

Keep on smiling! Aja!
